Drawn to atmosphere, shifting light and a strong sense of place.
I’m Dylan Shu, a Dutch photographer creating cinematic imagery for hotels, destinations and premium brands.
I started by photographing my own travels: misty landscapes, quiet roads and changing light. That attention to atmosphere still shapes my work today, whether I’m photographing a mountain landscape or the details of a hotel.
I work across Europe and beyond, combining commissioned projects with the landscape photography that got me started. For each commission, I bring my own visual style while keeping the focus on what the client wants to communicate.
On commissions, I work from the brief and brand guidelines, planning each shoot around location, timing and light. I build a focused shot list in advance and work quietly around the people, environment and daily rhythm of each location.
Over the years, I’ve collaborated with hotels, tourism boards and brands including JW Marriott, COMO Hotels and Resorts, Alila, Pullman, Visit Dubai, Columbia Sportswear, Mazda, OPPO and Hertz.
